For our wedding gift, my sister gave Scott and I a painting. A painting that she painted. And it is beautiful.
It hangs in our family room above our “kitchen table” (when you see the pic below you will understand and yes, that is where we eat :) We love it! We were so moved by her thoughtfulness and talent. It is such a wonderful piece to look at everyday and be reminded of all the love in our life.
So, today I want to give a little a little shout out to my amazingly talented sister, Lindsey. Love you Nugget! Thanks so much!
I introduce you to “Unicylce Chirp”…..
Holla!

Happy Friday!
I love my husband :)
I came out of our bedroom wearing a cocktail dress that I was trying on for our friends holiday party tonight. Scott smiled at me, kissed me as I leaned in to say hello, and told me to look under our Christmas tree. I was like, “huh, why?” He grinned and told me that Christmas came early today.
Still confused, I made my way over to our tree (which in actuality was only like 2 feet away because we were sitting on the couch right next to it) and I looked around for this potential mystery gift. Low and behold, there it was a green gift bag with tissue sticking out, just waiting for me :)
I picked it up as excited a little kid on Christmas morning, sat next to my husband on the couch, and opened my surprise.
Inside the bag were two hand knit Christmas stockings each with our names embroidered on our respective stocking. The insides were lined with fabric Scott himself had picked out. Mine lined with shoes (obviously :) and Scott’s lined with Scottie Dogs. A special thank you to our friend Alex for helping sew in the personalized linings. I know Scott would have been quite stuck without you.
So, here they are, our own Christmas stockings, that we will have forever and will always remind us of our first married Christmas. I love you Scott.

Man, oh man! I feel like I have been on hiatus from blogging! Well, I am back and oh I have missed thee.
I don’ t know if it is because the holiday’s are getting closer (oh my goodness the holiday’s are getting closer! When did Thanksgiving decide it was going to be this week?!?), but I feel like I’ve been running a mile a minute in all directions and haven’t had time to catch my breath. All good things, and no complaints, just a very full life :)
Speaking of holiday’s… :) …I have had a vision in my head for a couple of month’s now regarding what Scott and I could do as a first Holiday card as a married couple. Well, Sunday, we went out, did a little Goodwill shopping, and made my vision a reality. I don’t want to give it all away, but here a few little teasers :)

We used iphoto to actually put the cards together, and can I just say I LOVE iPHOTO! Not only is it so intuitive and easy to use, it offers a wide variety of product options and the products are of very nice quality too! AND placing an order is super easy if you have an apple account and you get your items lickity split (yeah, I said it :)
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a very happy Thanksgiving! Even in difficult times, we always have so much to be grateful for…
Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of taking some photos of my little sis. Lee and I ventured to Palos Verdes looking for some sort of field where I could take photos and practice giving direction to my model(s)…something that is still slightly uncomfortable for me.
Anyways, we spotted this awesome little trail/canyon-y area right off of Palos Verdes Drive so we pulled over to roam around and see where our creative juices led us. The location was super cool! Felt slightly like we were off-roading in uncharted territory with broken branches, cacti, weird prickly ball things, bugs…none of which either of us was particularly prepared for though. I kept getting twigs and sticks stuck in my hole filled sandals, I sat on one of those prickly ball things trying to get a shot, and poor Lee feel off a tree branch (like legitly fell backwards, swung around monkey style, and fell to the ground!). I felt horrible! But Lee was okay and a total trooper, and so we forged ahead :) And hopefully future clients don’t endure injury when shooting with me…yikes!!!
Here are some of my favorite shots. Enjoy :)

Thanks for indulging me Lee! You were a beautiful model and such a good sport! Eggcellent work :) Love you!
Happy Sunday!
Who knew!?
Most (basically ALL) of the beaches in LA do not allow dogs…not even on a leash. Which is so sad because Abby loves the beach and frisbe and playing with other dogs. Ok, not really playing with other dogs. She is shy, small, and prefers to keep to herself, but I think she just likes knowing other dogs are around :)
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago Scott found a dog beach not too far from our house and this past weekend we all went to check it out. I brought my camera and snagged a few pics. Enjoy!

This is Scott right after he rescued Abby’s frisbee from the ocean. Oh, did I forget to mention Abby also does not like the water. :) Scott also does not the like water when he gets his shoes and socks wet. (Why he did not just take them off prior to his heroic efforts remains unclear.)

Nice catch Abbo!

And this one I just had fun with in photoshop. Please note the diving pelican on the far left…crazy birds!

Happy Tuesday!
Hello everyone! So I am Scott, Laura’s husband. And as you may have already seen me as Laura’s stand-in photography model, I thought I might share a picture or two of my wonderful wife. So as Laura is off enjoying a movie about coco powder and Chanel at the Skirball (I think that’s what she said), I get to do the honors of blogging! So here she is…my beautiful wife :)

Happy Wednesday!
So, this past weekend was a very ambitious photography weekend. And by that I mean, that I actually went on a couple of photography adventures…as opposed to my usual one. :) The Manhattan Beach Pier on Saturday and a photo shoot with my lovely sisters on Sunday.
After much resistance, extensive convincing, and the promise of a large cup of coffee, my sisters finally made their way to my house so I could practice shooting in a more real life situation. So, they got all dressed up and put on super fun outfits and we went to a nearby by elementary school. I think we got some really wonderful shots and it was great practice for me to learn how to create an environment in a picture and give direction to my models.
My sisters were so much fun to shoot and we had a lot of fun! :) Thanks so much Nuggets! Love you.

I am not sure what is going on with the scarf, but we just went with it and I kinda like how this turned out :)

My favorite :)

Their “Rock Band” impression :)

Thanks for being such good sports! Love you so much! Meep :)
Happy Monday!
My family was in town this weekend and today I was able to snap a few shots when Scott, my sisters, and I took our family dog, Ellie, on a walk. It wasn’t a full photography adventure as in weekends past, but was still a fun opportunity to sneak in a few shots :) Here are a couple from our travels down the alley and at the park.

Ellie was pretty tired when we got back :)

Happy Monday!
So, today Scott was kind enough to be my model for another weekend photography adventure. We didn’t venture too far this time and instead stayed close to home. We wandered around on a wood chip trail near our house and I think we got some pretty neat pictures. I am really enjoying getting to know my camera and myself as a photographer. This whole shooting in manual mode and directing those you are photographing is tricky, but I am becoming more comfortable each time the camera is in my hands.
Well, hope enjoy these photos of my handsome husband (and Abby too :)

Thank you Scott! Love you :)
Happy Saturday!
I am so excited because for the first time in seven years both of my sisters and I live in the same area! My youngest sister is heading off to college, which usually means going further away, but in this case it means she is moving closer to me and my other sister! Yay!
I am seven years older than my littlest sister and I am really looking forward to re-getting to know her. By that I mean that I am looking forward to getting to know her as a friend as well as a sister. Seven years is quite an age gap when you’re 16 and your little sis is 9…not quite on the same page :) When I left for college I was 18 and my sister was 11 and that was the last time we lived in the same house and the same town for that matter! It is now seven years later and I feel like we finally get to reconnect and become even better friends. We have always been close, but our lives our on more of an even playing field now so relating to each other becomes far easier and natural.
I have already had this experience with my little (but not littlest) sister. When she moved down here 3 years ago we had the opportunity to re-get to know each other and even though I always loved my sister deeply, we had our separate lives and had grown up in each others absence. Now, she is one of my bestest friends :)
I am just so excited for all of us to be together! This is going to be so much fun! They are wonderful young ladies and I love them so very much!
To getting to know the 3 of us again :)

Love you lil’ Nuggets! :)
Happy Wednesday!
