That’s right. Sexy.
A guitar.
A cajon.
A keyboard.
A tree!
How could you go wrong!? Exactly, you can’t :)
And this past Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting my friend(s)??…not sure of the proper grammar here because Lady Danville is singular, but then there are three members, all of whom are my friends…aaaannnnyways…Lady Danville’s tree clade merchandise for their online merch store. I was so excited when they asked me if I would do the shoot for them. Like a little kid in a candy store I was overwhelmed, thrilled, and wanted to make sure I got the perfect piece of candy. I wanted to get the perfect picture for my friends.
And so began what would be a perfectly rainy, and cold, shoot. :) On Saturday morning, Dan and Michael from Lady Danville, my dear friends Alex and Ting-Ting, my little sisters, and my handsome hubby all gathered at our house to meet for our photography adventure. Everyone changed into their Lady Danville T’s, accessorized appropriately, and then braved the rain to make this shoot happen. With all of our busy lives, sometimes a rainy day is the best day. :) So, we made it work.
Dan and Mike took turns holding an umbrella over me because I was terrified I would get my camera wet, and the lovely models pretended the goosebumps were fleeting, the rain light, and the wind, but a whisper. Ok, I may be making this sound worse then it was. Well, it was bad weather, but it was a whole lot of fun! And despite the freezing LA weather (that’s right it was like 60!) and the torrential down pour (at one point this was definitely true) I think we got some pretty cool shots.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Thank you Lady Danville for asking me to be your photographer :) You guys rock! And your shirts are sexy.

Happy Wednesday!

And then my sisters remembered how much they enjoy playing in the rain :)

And by warm and fuzzy, I mean COATS (and jackets)!
I love coats, possibly as much as I love shoes and boots. I just don’t get to wear them as often. The past couple of days it has been about 56 degrees outside when I leave for work in the morning, and that is about the closest to coat weather I get all year. But I take what I can :)
Here are some of my favorite fall/winter coats. Enjoy!
And everyone needs a great leather jacket…
Happy Shopping!
Happy Thursday :)
So, this past weekend was a very ambitious photography weekend. And by that I mean, that I actually went on a couple of photography adventures…as opposed to my usual one. :) The Manhattan Beach Pier on Saturday and a photo shoot with my lovely sisters on Sunday.
After much resistance, extensive convincing, and the promise of a large cup of coffee, my sisters finally made their way to my house so I could practice shooting in a more real life situation. So, they got all dressed up and put on super fun outfits and we went to a nearby by elementary school. I think we got some really wonderful shots and it was great practice for me to learn how to create an environment in a picture and give direction to my models.
My sisters were so much fun to shoot and we had a lot of fun! :) Thanks so much Nuggets! Love you.

I am not sure what is going on with the scarf, but we just went with it and I kinda like how this turned out :)

My favorite :)

Their “Rock Band” impression :)

Thanks for being such good sports! Love you so much! Meep :)
Happy Monday!
I would live in Anthropologie.
Seriously, it has everything I would need. As long as someone brought me food and my husband could live there too, I would be set. It has great home decor, bedding, bath, ambiance, and let’s not forget the clothes. Oh, the clothes! Channeling my inner Rachel Zoe, “I die.” Their clothes tell stories, their clothes inspire style and beg for someone to step outside of the box. I love clothing that is not conventional and maybe a little out there, but I feel it is in those special pieces that the world gets to catch a glimpse of the inner you. The you no one can overtly see, but with clothing we get a sneak peak.
Friends have told me that if they had to describe me based on a store, that Anthropologie would be the store of their choice. I am flattered. Here is a snapshot of some of the clothes I am in love with at Anthropologie now. I hope these pieces help you get to know the inner Laura :)

Look out Fall, Anthropologie and I have a date :)
Happy Tuesday!
Fun Flats.
As summer slowly begins to fade (Yes I know, sad, but true), even us Southern California girls are going to have to begin putting away the sandals and pick more weather friendly options for our feet. Flats are the perfect way to gradually step out of the gladiator sandals and into something just as cute and comfortable. Have fun with flats! Pick out fun textures, girly embellishments, and go nuts with color! Sure the basic black are a must, but some sassy teal flats will jazz up any jeans and a t-shirt. Here are some of my fav flat finds (wow, that was a lot of f’s and I didn’t even mean to.)

Ok, and this last one I know is not a flat, but I am in love with these shoes from Poetic License. So cute!

So, start your transition into fall with some great flats and then once we are over that hurdle we’ll chat about another fall must have…wedge ankle booties! Yay :)

Happy Monday!
No, seriously. They do.
TOMS shoes is a truly unique company in that every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. How awesome is that!?
Now, TOMS has a wedding line. LOVE! Their super comfy shoes are great for the down-to-earth bride with a hip sense of style or for any bride that just wants to cut loose on the dance floor! You could even give your bridesmaids a pair of TOMS as part of their gift…more stylish, happy feet on the dance floor, and more kids receiving an awesome pair of shoes.
Now you can dress your feet in stye on your special day and know that by doing so you are putting shoes on the feet of a well deserving child. Prices for their wedding line are $44 and $54 so they are a reasonably priced gift for your feet, but remember you give the gift of shoes to a wonderful kid too :)
Thank you to TOMS for doing what they do everyday and for making a difference in the world one shoe at a time. I appreciate you!
Happy Thursday!
A blazer.
So, yesterday I went shopping with my sister and I purchased what we both believe to be an essential piece in any good wardrobe…a blazer. You can dress it up with a nice pair of jeans and heels or give a casual outfit a polished look. I got my blazer from Urban Outfitters for $78 so it is not a huge investment for a versatile item that can be worn through the seasons and different occasions.

This is how I decided to wear my blazer…

Happy Shopping and…
Happy Monday!
This is Lauren from Design Visage in Orange County and she did my hair and make-up for my wedding this past June (I will post more about that later :). She was so fun to work with and did such an amazing job! I stumbled upon this post earlier today and just had to share! I love the looks Lauren created for these photos…and she did her hair and make-up all herself! :)

The photography for the shoot was done by Forever Photography
Thanks Lauren! Now if only I could figure out how to do my own hair and make-up :)
Happy Thursday!
