Last night, Scott and I went to the Hollywood Cemetery with a group of friends and went to what seems to have become an LA/Hollywood summer tradition.  For the past 8 years, every Sunday during the summer the Hollywood Cemetery in collaboration cinespia shows old movies to a crowd of about 1,000 moviegoers.

Now, I will admit I was a little ambivalent about watching a movie in a cemetery, not only did it seem a little creepy, but almost disrespectful.  However, once we got there and I realized that the lawn they show the movie (which is projected on the side of a building) on was not near the actual graves I felt a little bit better about the situation.  It really was a great event and a fun gathering of people eating, laughing, and enjoying a classic movie.  Plus, if any cemetery would be fitting, it would be Hollywood, right!? :)

Last night they showed Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in honor of John Hughes.  What a fabulous movie! Although light hearted and funny, it has an undertone that really does make you stop and think. May we always enjoy life and not be our own biggest roadblock :)

Scott grabbed a couple images from our outting.  Enjoy!
